Nicolás López presents his new exhibition at the Mas Arte gallery in Miraflores

The renowned watercolorist Nicolás López, from Huancayo, will inaugurate a new exhibition of his work, titled "Forty," today, Thursday, November 14, at the Mas Arte gallery in Miraflores.

The exhibition brings together a series of his watercolor works created over several decades. What distinguishes López from other artists is his style and subject matter, which allow viewers to observe what captivates and surprises him with his unique way of seeing the world.

Nicolás López Aroni was born in Huancayo, Peru, into a family of artists, where art played a significant role in his personal development. He developed his painting skills, excelling in watercolor. She graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Ayacucho, Peru in 2007. She continued her painting studies, specializing in watercolor techniques, at the Carlos Baca Flor National School of Art in Arequipa, graduating in 2013.

"There is something enduring not only in her knowledge of watercolor as a technique but, above all, in her discovery of complex articulations between poetry and painting, with which she challenges us time and again. Likewise, among the links that lead from historical events to the personal experience of them: events, when they touch us, so to speak, in the foreground of our personal lives, tend to carry complex and productive messages, in some sense yet to be clarified," notes Augusto del Valle, an art researcher, regarding Lopez's work.

The pieces exhibited on this occasion demonstrate the artist's skillful handling of watercolor as a traditional technique that typically adheres to standard formats. The artist poetically and even nostalgically captures the memory held by places of past events, which in many cases remain alive.

The exhibition can be visited at the gallery located at 282 Mariano Odicio Street, Miraflores, until the end of the month. Admission is free.
